In the world of home mortgages, there are two main types of interest rates. The two interest rates are fixed and variable. According to Investopedia, a fixed interest rate is a predetermined interest rate on a home mortgage loan. This interest rate would never change during the entirety of the loan. However, a variable interest rate is an interest rate that moves up and down according to the prime rate. The prime rate is the interest rate that commercial banks charge their most credit-worthy customers. Generally a bank's best customers consist of large corporations. The prime interest rate, or prime lending rate, is largely determined by the federal funds rate, which is the overnight rate which banks lend to one another. The prime rate is also important for retail customers, as the prime rate directly affects the lending rates which are available for mortgage, small business and personal loans.
But, ultimately, how can different types of mortgage interest rates have any semblance to America’s postmodern Christian Church? First, when the early Christian Church began, it was based on a “fixed” situation, a predetermined situation that would be impossible to change. It was based on the birth and life of Jesus Christ, God’s Only Begotten Son. But, more importantly, it was based on His death and resurrection on the Cross of Calvary. As a result of Jesus’ death and resurrection, all men and women, boys and girls could be forgiven of any and all of their sins against God that they had committed. In fact, as stated in John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh to the Father except by me.” Also, in John 3:16, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Ultimately, as is indicative of these scriptures, there is only one way to Heaven and that way will always come through faith in what the Savior of the World, the Lord Jesus Christ, accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. As the Apostle Paul purported in Romans 1: 17, “The just shall live by faith.” Therefore, faith in Jesus Christ alone is the only criteria that must be met to obtain eternal salvation.
Therefore, as a result of Jesus’ death on the Cross, an unchangeable, divine plan of salvation was given to lost humanity. Of course, this divine plan of salvation was written, so to speak, with Jesus Christ’s blood that ran down the Cross of Calvary. Then, as is obvious, Jesus Christ’s plan of salvation can never be edited by anyone but Jesus Himself. However, Jesus has paid for the price of mankind’s sin once and for all. Ergo, if a person attempts to get into Heaven by another plan of salvation now or in the future, he will be denied entrance and will ultimately have to face the wrath of an almighty, loving, but judgmental God. As stated in Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
However, with the passage of time, God’s plan of salvation has been faced many attacks from those who purport another plan of salvation, a plan that denies that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God. As a result, the more temporal plan of salvation for man’s sins suggests that faith in Jesus Christ alone will not guarantee an eternal home in Heaven. Some people advocate that a person can earn his way into Heaven by completing certain tasks assigned by a religious leader. Some people even advocate that a person can obtain eternal salvation by worshipping the god and holy book of any worldwide, manmade religion. In fact, this is the reason that America’s postmodern Christian Church has become a variable, religious institution. Too many churches have permitted their leaders to preach everything from holy pulpits, except “Jesus Christ Crucified,” as the Apostle Paul emphasized in I Corinthians 2: 2, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” This permits men to preach a distorted gospel of Jesus Christ from any book but the Bible. But, worst of all, ministers actually preach that is permissible to commit the sins outlined throughout the Bible and still be considered a born-again child of God. That is an abominable action on their part. Therefore, the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of a lost and dying world was useless, since, according to postmodern Christian Churches, many roads lead to salvation, including a road that refutes the deity of Jesus Christ and His Blood-bought Plan of Salvation.
Unfortunately, the ministers and some of the members of the variable, Christian Church in America has stopped permitting the Holy Spirit to lead them and has begun listening to the demonic lies of Satan as it attempts to destroy the True Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, these churches, as stated in II Timothy 3:5, have a form of godliness but they deny the very esssence of the power of God. They just put on a show that is a stench in the nostrils of God the Father, especially since they permit members of their congregations to commit the sins of the eyes, the sins of the flesh, and the pride of life. In fact, the variable Christian Church is postmodern America could very well be the Church of Laodicea that Jesus Christ mentioned in the Book of Revelation. As stated in Revelation 3:16, “Because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.” Sadly, this is the exact position that many postmodern Christian Churches in America find themselves at present.
Ultimately, how is America’s “variable” Christian Church (1960 until present) different from America’s “fixed” Christian Church (1607 until the late 1950s)? First, too many churches spend less time having revivals, that is, if they actually have any, than they do changing their programs and curriculums in order to draw more adults to their churches, which have become “fun centers” instead of “ soul-filling” stations. However, according to John 6:44, it is the spirit of God that draws men unto Him. It reads, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” Therefore, programs, food, conferences, trips, and other nonspiritual fun activities will not grow a True Church of the Lord Jesus Christ as it should be grown.
Second, the youth ministries in America’s “variable,” Christian Church are a reflection of the subcultural element contained with the United States itself. The music played in most churches, which is called alternative Chrsitian music, sounds just like rock and roll, heavy metal, and or rap music. The only difference is the addition of a few words that pertain to Christ. It is amazing that any of the youth would be able to hear the youth minister when the musical portion of a youth meeting has been completed, since the music is so deafening. But, apparently, the accepted method to get young people to come to church is to play music in their services which is similar to the music they hear regularly in the real world. Of course, the method used by youth ministers is similar to the method used by senior pastors. They provide food, games, and recreational activities to get teenagers to come to youth meetings. However, like adult church, all the gimmicks used to create a vibrate, on-fire youth group with not necessarily be successful. Teenagers must be drawn by the same spirit of God that caused adults to come to church and to seek salvation from their sins. Therefore, a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ must be spiritual relationship, not a series of fun activities which are temporal in nature.
In conclusion, these once godly churches, which were once the foundation of the American culture, have now permitted the subcultural elements of America’s society to become the accepted norm inside their four walls. Of course, as Christian Churches in America are decaying within, they, too, must be held accountable for America’s decay within as a nation. In fact, since America’s variable, Christian Church has coalesced with America’s subcultural elements, America has made abortion legal, same-sex marriage legal, and has condoned sex outside of marriage. It is also indirectly responsible for permitting the government to continually increase the already spiraling national debt, to support illegal immigration, to deny prayer and Bible-reading in public schools, which no longer rank number one in the world, and to support and promote Islam, the so-called religion of peace, throughout the United States. Therefore, if America’s postmodern Christian Churches continue to support a “variable” plan of salvation and deny the “fixed” plan of salvation, which was ordained of God and paid for with the “blood, sweat, and tears” of Jesus Christ, America is doomed to fall. However, if America once again accepts Jesus Christ “fixed” plan of salvation as the propitiation (the appeasement of God’s wrath toward mankind through Jesus shed blood on the Cross) for their sins (I John 2:2), America will once again return to its shing glory as the most powerful and the most spiritual nation in the world.
