The Collapse of America
(Ignoring the Ten Commandments)
Looking back to the time of the patriarchs, I see a glimpse of their unwavering commitment to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. A far cry from modern America today.
The ones who listened and obeyed were the ones who truly sought the holiness of God. They knew the law was handed down by Moses, from God, and was to be revered.
The collapse of America is resulting from ignoring the Ten Commandments. The world as we see it will continue on a spiral downfall because we choose to turn away from a loving God and serve the god of this world.
The Ten Commandments was not only lived by the Jewish nation, but we find in the New Testament the Gentiles also obeyed them.
Why the drastic change? Because in the day of the apostles, righteousness was the norm and not the minority. Therefore, as the day draws closer to His return, man becomes less in tuned to his conscience, more in tuned to sin.
One day America will be called to answer for her backsliding and betrayal of the God who “shed his grace on thee.”
Time will usher in the appearance of the Lamb of God who so freely gave Himself for the remission of our sins.
When Jesus taught the people, He plainly said that He did not come to destroy the law and the prophets but to fulfill them. The laws that no longer need fulfilling due to His sacrifice are the ceremonial laws.
They are spoken of throughout the Bible. He told us what the two greatest commandments are, and on these two hang all the laws and the prophets:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love they neighbor as thyself.” Matthew 22: 37- 40.
God has always intended for the law to be kept, but even in the church today there are those who lie, secretly covet their neighbor’s possessions and so on.
If America lived as the Ten Commandments teach, the world as we know it would not be in the shape she is in. If we loved God the way He commanded and loved each other as ourselves, the lives we lead would reflect the relationship we have with the savior, hence America would be a godly nation.
As Proverbs 14: 34 declares, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
After reflecting on the above verse and many of the other scriptures, how can we as a free nation, who have shared in the many blessings as America has, ignore the Ten Commandments, and then by doing so contribute to the collapse of America?
