Prophecy
So many of My dear children are so eager to do something wonderful to please Me that they fail to use sanctified common sense in making major decisions in their lives. Some insist they feel Me leading them to move to some other part of the earth to be a missionary. So without praying about it enough they quit their job and sell their home, then head off without knowing the first thing about where they decided to go. Then when illness or difficulty strikes in a foreign land, they sometimes find they can’t soldier on bravely anymore. They wonder how they will ever come home when they’ve got no resources left to fall back on.
I see more than a few out there trying to drum up a “mighty work for God” in their area. They tell others about the hundreds of souls they’ve won over the years, only to find only a couple people show up in their meetings. The preacher tells visitors how faithful I’ve been to provide rent money for one or two buildings they hold services in. If the visitor is on a fixed income or even destitute, it makes them feel bad they can’t help out the preacher who “launched out in faith”. And after that, it won’t be long before you hear sermons on alleged laziness and refusal to work, preached even to elderly retirees. The preacher, out of desperation, is trying to get the money rolling in somehow, to pay off the massive debts he brought on himself by jumping ahead of My timing in his life.
It’s a huge step to sell your house or car and commit to renting building(s) for services which may never draw more than a couple people. How do you expect to pressure so few to help you pay so many heavy debts which I probably never put on your back in the first place? Did the early apostles go around renting real estate to house tiny meetings or were meetings held in believers’ homes?
Don’t immediately jump to do the bidding of some inner impression. Ask Me also to provide confirmations of the “leading” through favorable circumstances which point to that truly being a leading of the Lord. There have even been a few instances of Christians who up and left their families behind to go on the mission field, even leaving their tiny children in the care of relatives while they go “serve Jesus” to earn crowns in heaven for themselves. That is all wrong. If you refuse to rightly relate to and care for your spouse and your own precious kids, then how do you suppose you’ll care for someone else’s family overseas? Let the children first be fed (Mark 7:27). I have made each parent responsible for the care of children they bring into this world (I Tim.5:8). It’s easy to cop out of responsibilities you’ve already made for yourself and go out to create new ones.
As you drive down the highway, you’ll see signs telling you how far you are from your destination. If your aim is to reach a certain city a hundred miles away, and you’ve gone 95 miles and see no signs leading you to it, you have good reason to suspect you’re on the wrong road.
There is a time to every purpose and a season for all things, saith the Lord. You cannot force your garden to produce peas before its time, just because you're hungry for them. In the mouth of two or three witness every matter shall be decided, and if you jumpt to act on the first fleeting impression it could be disastrous for you or your family.
If the alleged leading involves expenses or going somewhere, one confirmation you should ask Me for is to make provision for the vision. If I really gave you that leading, I would not normally expect you to go empty-handed, without money to pay your plane fare. That's usually prsumption rather than faith.
If you think I want you to go somewhere, buy something, sell something or do something, ask Me for verifiable outward signs that this particular leading is truly from Me. Don’t just trust in fleeting impressions. Feelings can lie. They can come from your imagination, from the devil, even from someone you love. You can land in an awful quagmire of difficulties if you go somewhere I don't want you to go, and it might take Me time to get you out of it. Abraham and Sarah got way ahead of me when they produced a child of the flesh and they reaped the problems that situation brought with it. Don't be impatient. I may seem late to you, but I am ALWAYS ON TIME. So wait patiently on Me My wonders to perform, saith the Lord, and I will bring forth My plans and purposes in your life in due season.
