Harsh Realities

After reading an article about wether or not God is responsible for Natural Disasters or not, I couldn't help but notice something amazing!

My first thought upon reading this was; "people hold an expectation of God to be good". And yet, do not hold the same expectation of themselves". For example, many people shake their heads asking why God allows such things and yet do not question human disasters. Some of these include the slaughter of animal and plant species in the masses. Mining deep into the earth, dumping toxins into the earth, oceans etc., I believe whilst we all engage in the product of earthly destruction we move closer to our own human destruction. We are it seems, the only species on earth to race ourselves toward our own destruction.

Human greed it seems has no end in sight. Despite all these natural disasters, nothing concrete and/or productive is being done to reverse and/or rectify the problem. We can all talk about "carbon taxes", climate control expenditure and so forth. However, this will not fix the problem. I do truly believe, if anything, such financial burdens will only place further pressure on peoples need of and for commercialism. Greed is a sin as we all know. A sin-ful action that only humans possess. It is not considered acceptable nor tolerable either in human society or God's Word. Yet, we as society seem quite content to allow corporate giants and governments to destroy not only our own habitat, but that of others also. Human greed is not a "need", it is a sin-ful desire of "want" that robs others and all kingdoms on earth of life.

In the event there is any mistake of what "greed" truly is, I think it could be defined as such. "Greed is to take more than one needs". Many ancient tribes worshipped not only God, but the earth, and gave thanks for "allowing" their presence and the yielding of food crops for their survival. Never did they take more than they needed. As they knew only too well, the consequence of greed as opposed to need.

In our modern world, as with the old, people are told God is good. Yet they ask, "why does God allow such terrible things to happen, and so many lives are lost". However, being "good" is not all about being wise. Many times God's wisdom may be far beyond our own comprehension to understand Him fully. The same can be said of human parenting. Our children do not always understand fully our wisdom in guiding them to a greater goodness. First impressions would in many cases show a negative outcome with a positive outcome hidden within to unfold at a later date. Only a truly trusting child would have total faith in his or her parents decisions and bear them gracefully. God is much the same where His Children, (faith-full men, women and children), are concerned. God's parenting skills more often than not challenge our human reasoning and faith in Him.

Human beings will question the ethics of God it seems, but not their own. Wether or not, every natural disaster on earth is the "Making" of God or not, is irrelevant. What is relevant, is the question of what humanity is doing to rectify its own greed and return to the earth the resources of which it has taken over and above our "needs". The balance of life is fragile, yet so many take it for granted. Despite human behaviour it seems, people believe God will always provide. The truth and tragedy of this harsh reality is that - "God will not". His Word, found in the Bible is inarguable proof that God's Word is final and the only Word that counts at the End Of Days.

God has warned as many times as He has spared humanity of the consequences of it's own sin and the reality borne of it. Yet still today, some 2000 years on, none adhere to God's Word. Rather, by default, continue to over-ride it with little if no regard to consequence of the disobedience.

In Revelations, the Last Book of the Holy Bible, John whilst, "In The Spirit" wrote-out God's Word and revealed all to humanity a warning.

Rev 1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
Rev 1:2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

None can say; "we did not know, or we didn't understand", for all were made fully aware. It is a bit like the days of Noah. God provided ample warning through Noah, "so 2 speak" (person to person to carry the Me's-Age of God through the Holy Spirit), as he (Noah), did in speaking to others. The Word breathed in/2 (flesh and spirit) of man, a man named Noah. The floods came, the Ark complete, filled with a pair of each species as he was Told to do. Noah adhered to and had ultimate faith in God's Word and he and his family were saved.

We have as many people who are capable of carrying the Word of God through the Holy Spirit "so 2 speak". However, too few it seems are wiling to allow God a voice and deny His Pre-Sense, also; "gift". The "gift" of the Holy Spirit, (He's), the Spirit of God that Jesus brought to humanism. Through Jesus, we are able to come to God and respond to His Calling. Sadly, few do with their hearts, and rather "lip speak" their faith. Human faith that seems to falls apart at the first sign of pressure from within society that befalls them. Too few Christians it seems can bear the burden of the Cross as the weight it carries on their own shoulders is too heavy and they discard it. These are the false Christians, for those with genuine saving faith and grace find the Cross no burden, but a lamp 2 (the Holy Spirit of God and Jesus), Light their Way. In doing so are up-lifted from their burdens and neither thirst nor hunger.

God's Word can be compared with earthly food for the body. Where God's Word and pre-sense is food for the spirit of the flesh, the human soul.

If God is to be held responsible by society for natural disasters, we can assume humanity being responsible for so much more. God has recorded His Word, and through His Word is found "saving grace" for those who want it. God has a wisdom compared to none. Who are we to question of the One whom we depend on for life at every level. I call God the Creator, for without the energy (Spirit), of God, none can live and breathe. Oxygen is just that - 0, X, Y, Gene - human DNA building blocks of life that only God so far can "breathe" life in/2 the flesh and spirit of humanism. For without the spirit there be no flesh in which to house it.
