Faith
Last time I checked, it's still a Free Country. If you want to choose Atheism, you certainly have the right. Our Constitution even guarantees “Religious Freedom”, for all individuals. Whether to believe in GOD, or not, is a personal preference.
Let's take a small percentage chance, say 15%, that GOD is real and the whole Bible-Jesus thing is the factual truth. Fifteen percent yes, eighty five percent no - fair odds for Atheism don't you agree?
Here's my Question for you, “Is it worth taking the Risk”? As an Atheist, what if you are dead wrong and the 15% chance happens? Is it worth risking your Immortal Sole Burning in Hell for Eternity? Pretty harsh stuff, huh? Burning in hell, torched by Satin's fire, forever and forever, Wow! I personally couldn't handle that - I'm not that brave. Just thinking of hell sends chills up and down my spine.
Most non-believers do so, because they don't have Proof that GOD exists. As an atheist, doesn't that about sum-it-up for you? Hard to believe in something you can't see, touch, or hear, right? That's exactly what FAITH is all about. Faith is believing in something, or someone, without needing specific Proof attached.
The second reason Atheists don't believe in GOD is about the terrible happenings in the world. How can a loving GOD permit such evil stuff? The answer starts in the Garden of Eden with Eve eating “forbidden fruit”. Next is GOD'S gift of “Free Will” to man. Unfortunately, imperfect man often makes poor choices, which is why things get “screwed up”.
Here's the Irony. Once you make a Commitment to GOD, then you can feel him, hear him, and some day be with him. But you must make a commitment first, then your life will be changed forever. You will see certain “Circumstances of Occurrence”, which are really miracles from GOD. You will also witness GOD'S presents as a Powerful Partner in Life. Partnership with GOD, imagine that!
I'm am currently in my sixties. Now, through “Christian Eyes”, I can glance back upon my life and see exactly where GOD intervened . Although I didn't recognize it at the time, now it's crystal clear. “GOD Works in Mysterious Ways”, is a truism. Sometimes obvious, but most of the time not.
Being a Christian is almost as easy as being an Atheist, but the difference is Astronomical! The Bottom line is... Why take any Risk? It’s evident to me that Paradise is the Preferred Place of Residence for my Immortal Sole! Logically, doesn't that make sense to you?
Atheist or not, GOD Bless you anyway,
