Poetry
We ONCE were FOUND but now are LOST
Less than three Centuries have past,
Since this Nation came to be.
Noble men, their morals cast in stone
Lived and died to see men free.
From a sovereign land, forsaking all,
Clad in hope and faith they came.
Religious masks of old would fall,
Giving praise to just One Name.
Through storm and gale, though some were lost
Freedom ships ceased not to sail.
“Liberty or death—count the cost!”
Solemn lips and hearts would wail.
A wilderness untamed, they found,
Red skinned people called it home.
With sleeves rolled up they cleared the ground
From east to west they’d roam.
Three hundred years would pass until
A free nation—she could boast.
Rights declared through a brand new Bill
Bells echoed coast to coast.
The famous Fifty-Six did sign,
both in ink and drops of blood.
“Tears of choice--can now be mine”
from every eye flowed like a flood.
Father George and prayer, became one
Godless rule—not possible--
Like, the morning sky without sun,
Heaven’s Guide—unstoppable!
These men had battled hard and long
Bled and died to claim free soil
Faith and hope would become their song.
In God they would trust and toil.
Our Presidents would kneel in prayer,
in search of divine guidance,
In God’s hands, place the Nation’s care
while pledging their allegiance.
To be politically correct
Back then, its meaning reversed.
No prayer--no God—all would reject
Lest our nation become cursed.
These humble men, where have they gone?
Can you hear their spirits cry?
Like, Abraham, Martin and John
Oh-- forget-not, why they died?
If my people called by My Name
Shall humble themselves and pray
And turn from this wicked game
Come and seek my face today--
Then I will hear from up above
Forgive your sin and your shame
Heal your hearts and land with my love
When you humbly call my Name.

John Wark! This is your finest hour! It brought tears to my eyes and inside I cried for my country and my decendents. God Bless you for penning these words
