He is still King of kings and Lord of lords ... which means that He is still greater, mightier & able to overcome any problem that you encounter in life!
Jesus tells us something that is so profound that if we will but consider the ramifications of His information we will discover it to be profoundly empowering!
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.
I and My Father are one." John 10:27-30 (NKJV)
I don’t want you to miss it so I repeat it here …
Our God is GREATER THAN ALL ELSE!
Jesus is telling us who are born-again that we have a different reality than those who are not the children of the Most High by faith in Christ Jesus as Lord!
That reality begins with this: We are in God's hands, and God is greater than all! So why are we overwhelmed by negative emotions and attitudes because of life's issues, situations, and circumstances?
Consider again what Jesus says ... MY FATHER IS GREATER THAN ALL! This being true, no matter what you are facing or what you are dealing with; whatever is trying to conquer your faith with worry and fear doesn't stand a chance of prevailing over you! Whatever is trying to defeat your life cannot triumph over you if you live in this truth!
Consider this: There are but a few ways for you to be defeated. Either your adversary would have to be bigger, greater and mightier than God - or - you do not realize your reality!
Since nothing is bigger, greater or mightier than God, we are left with the latter choice. You do not realize the reality God intends for you to be living in! The enemy of our souls does every-thing possible to cause us to never comprehend and realize what our reality is intended to be! Failing that, he does everything else he possibly can to cause us to forget our reality!
Divorce, bankruptcy, death of a loved one, losing your job, the economy collapsing ... in all of these (and in every other negative situation or condition) the devil works feverishly to convince us that our reality is anything but that we are held in the very hands of God who is GREATER THAN ALL!
Now, does this mean that we will be untouched or unscathed by the evils of this world? No, Jesus did not promise that at all ... but He did promise that none of these things, nor any ONE can remove us from our place in Christ nor our Father's loving care!
When we are confronted with, or pulled into, bad situations - the evils of this life - which will happen, we can either embrace God's hands in which we are being lovingly held, or we can forget in Whose Hands we are and miss His glorious, divine interventions! If that happens then our minds are so easily drawn away from what our true reality is supposed to be!
So, what, will just remembering in Whose Hands we are be enough to defeat the enemies which come against us? NO. But that is our starting place and more importantly that is OUR STANDING PLACE! It is our place to take our stand against the evils against us! It is the only place that we can – “withstand … (and) having done all, to stand!” Ephesians 6:13
When we realize that God’s hands are our standing place this means that we must deal with things – all things both good and bad, both for us and against us - in God's way on our part! This means we may have to make some corrective adjustments in our attitudes, motives, actions and words! We may have to rethink our positions in some – or many – issues and realign our thinking to come into agreement with God’s Word.
But let me ask you something ... in a conflict where would you rather take your stand? When you have to face the minions of evil, where would you rather the battleground be?
As for me, I will take my stand IN MY FATHER'S HANDS! Really, how long do you think the enemy, any enemy, can remain "strong" against you when the battlefield is actually the plains of the palms of God’s hands?
Something to remember!
Be blessed in Christ!
