You either believe or you don't,
It's simply a matter of choice.
God's promise is ours for the asking,
We simply confess with our voice.
Peace for the troubled He's promised,
All worry can cease in our mind.
Believing what God's Word has promised
Or anxiety stalking we find.
"Let go and let God" seems too simple,
Yet focus on Him is the key,
Moment by moment relaxing in Him
And worries, anxieties flee.
Relaxing to us is so foreign,
We're geared for a pace that lies waste,
Our health and emotions both suffer,
And peace in the life just erased.
Abundant living God's promised,
And Jesus speaks peace from His lips,
"My peace I leave you, I give you,"
All worries and fears He then nips.
Trusting repairs to others' skilled hands
When something is broken within,
And yet our direction, yes, our daily grind,
We grasp in both hands, thick or thin.
Who better foresees all our future?
Who better knows just what we face?
And who knows us better, the way we are made,
The Creator and our Resting Place.
"Let go and let God", yes, that simple,
Just giving the reigns of control,
Our best is what He most desires,
And all of our fears take no toll.
His peace is the fruit that will blossom,
A gift from His heart to the soul.
Held safely in arms that most love us,
All burdens on Him we can roll.
"You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind (both its inclination and its character) is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You and hopes confidently in You." Isaiah 26:3 (Amplified Bible)
"Peace I leave with you; My (own) peace I now give and bequeath to you, Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid--stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled." John 14:27 (Amplified Bible)
