Sad Animal's Cage

I sit wearily searching the depths of my heart..
For words that show the greatest of art
A topic I see from week to week.
Yet not is heard, no not a peep.

At this time we are made to take a break
With nerves a jumble as fretfully we quake.
Running again to that board every time
No Topic This Week, is all we find.

What now can we do but stare and mourn,
The keyboard a blur, our fingers worn.
We sit in tears with anguished Souls.
How dreadful the day as our topic is stole.

Each moment we toil in search of a goal,
The challenge is then a burning of coals.
Remorseful we wander, from page to page,
Sad animals trapped in Deb's mighty cage.

We search for words, no matter the cost
How can we go on, when our fun is lost.
Hearts broken, while at the screen we weep,
There in large words, NO TOPIC THIS WEEK.

You said the page to page...deb's cage gets the most comment, so i will comment on MY favorite part. "What now can we do but stare and mourn, The keyboard a blur, our fingers worn. " Good job Mister! I really like it.

Good one. Funny. Very clever. (Actually, I'm laughing at myself because I'm guilty as charged.)

Well written, smooth flowing. LOL I also love the line about Deb's cage. The final stanza was perfect.
