What if the Bible were not true?
What if there were no God above
To send the rain, the snow, the dew
And shower us with gifts of love?
What if creation were a hoax,
And Adam just a farce or myth;
God's Word a book of cruel jokes
To humor one another with?
What if there were no real Christ
Who lived a sinless life and then,
Upon the Cross was sacrificed
But in three days He rose again?
What if life ended with the grave,
We lived and died and that was all;
No life beyond, no soul to save,
No God to hear us when we call?
No Gospel tidings then to tell.
No hymns to sing, no church bells chime;
No choir with rapturous anthems swell
To point us to that better clime?
What if 'twere all a monstrous lie,
And we but fools to think it true?
And some do doubt. Thank God not I?
I KNOW its real. I KNOW! Do you?
