We want everyone to enjoy their time on the FaithWriters Message Board, and that means a good mixture of fun and serious posts. However, it is important that members are careful not to "hijack" a serious thread that has been started by another member.
If a thread is started purely for fun, then anything goes--as long as everyone is enjoying the direction it takes.
If a thread is started for a set purpose, then please respect the originator's intention by keeping the responses as close to the topic as possible. Of course a topic may head down a variety of associated side tracks, and that is perfectly acceptable. It is only when the original topic becomes completely lost in totally unrelated messages that "hijacking" takes place.
Let's keep the balance right, so that everyone enjoys and gets the most out of their Message Board experience.
Love, Deb

Re: Thread Hijacking
Yes! Amen.
Though some people may not have experienced having a thread hijacked, I've had this happen repeatedly on another site by people I call "Thread Sharks", but never on FaithWriters. Hooray and kudos to us! It happens often in my LinkedIn writer groups and is very disparaging. Thank you for addressing this potential hazard, because sometimes we can do this without even realizing what we are doing.

Re: Thread Hijacking
Thanks for that. It's not really a problem anymore, but for a while there (a long time ago), we were all kind of guilty of it. LOL.
