Hi Challengeers. The Week 10 topic is a lovely one:
As always, have fun with the topic, and you can write in any genre or style you like. You can do with the topic whatever your heart desires. AS LONG AS SOME MEANING OF THE TOPIC, CHILDHOOD, IS THE MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR ENTRY ... and as long as the entry conforms to the rules.
No definition really necessary for such a familiar topic:
My only proviso is that it isn't purely about a child. It's about the state of being in that stage of life. In other words, if you write from a child's POV watching adults behaving badly (or well), that's not really about childhood. That's a child's interpretation of adulthood. Your entry needs to be, in some way, about the experience of being a child.
As always, don't forget to check your word count before submitting (entries must be between 150 and 750 words). A very reliable and free online word count check tool is this one:
PLEASE, always hit the preview button to check your entry before hitting the final submit button. This is the only way to make sure your entry is uploaded correctly. This is very important, particularly if you are using HTML code for the first time. Once you have previewed your entry, close the preview page and hit the submit button.
Finally, once submitted, do a check to make sure your entry is safely in the list:
This is the last topic for the quarter, so make the most of it. Let's take it out in a big way. Let the nostalgia begin.
