Re: Redundant
Thanks Shann, you're very generous, as others here. When I read what you wrote it reminded me of one of the other reasons why I did reveal some of the suspense in the first book. In this series of books I look into errors I feel we as the body of Christ have made, along with growing into the full st...

Re: Redundant
Shann, I struggled a bit with the suspense and element of surprise, in regards to how much to leave that in. My initial direction was to keep the surprise going, and then reveal more the main points more towards the end of the series. I thought it wouid be an effective way to draw someone into the s...

Re: Redundant
Thanks Shann and Graham! So, appears you both confirmed it being redundant. Thought I may be able to get away with it, but it may just be too redundant. I feel fine with the rest if the grammar is fine, but the feedback is still much appreciated. Although Shann, I will also be revisting, "and g...

Re: Redundant
For some reason when I post, it doesn't post indented where I have done that. So, in the summary here I have put in line spacing where I have indented on the back cover.

Redundant
Hi. I'm not sure if this is in the right place to put this, but wanted to post here as sounding redundant was something mentioned in one of my postings here. I do feel necessary to do that at times for emphasis, or whatever else I am looking to convey, but been watching for those times when it isn't...

Re: Commas (Part Four)
I opted to leave it out in some portions. It's just that a good deal of the book is fast-paced and felt it was slowing things down, and it didn't fit. Although, I did insert it in other areas... Still editing, but I think I am almost done this time. Here's an example of what I mean (thinking it may...

Re: Commas (Part Four)
Commas - Part Four I said in another thread that if you say something before you get the main point of your sentence, add a comma. In other words, if you build a sentence backwards, add a comma. In technical talk, use a comma after an introductory adverbial clause, verbal phrase, or absolute phrase...

Re: ... what of it?
Scroll down in this forum. There is a thread totally devoted to the use of ellipses. Yes, there are times when using them are completely appropriate, but you'd be correct in not overusing them. The most common error is the setup, however. There should be spaces, if you get my drift . . . There's a ...

... what of it?
Ok, so I really like using them three periods to indicate a long pause. Is that approprate? I tend to use it excessively, yet I want to curb it in my story so have replaced several with commas. Although, now I am wondering if it is appropriate use to indicate a long pause. Is that ok or is it just u...

Re: SOS! Sentence structure...period or comma???
No reason to feel humiliated in the least. There are no bad questions--I'd far rather you (or anyone) asked, out of a desire to write correctly, than publish something with easily correctable errors. And perhaps a few more people have learned something new by reading this thread. Just keep right on...
